We thought that we had a clear idea of the reasons that employers and employees have to learn a new language. Well, we are learning a few new ones and it is all related to the ECONOMY. (We are starting to dislike this word. Maybe we should say it with a beautiful French accent instead. Like when we say Targei instead of Target). :-)))
“The job market is extremely competitive right now and I need to polish my High School Spanish” or “My company is doing better in China that in the US”, or “I lost my job. They gave my workload to a bilingual team member”.
Yes. All true.
If a company decides to cut expenses, let us hope that it is not language training. For their own sake. 🙂 If an individual is hesitant to invest a little bit of his/her savings to learn a new language, we hope that the thought of better opportunities comes to his/her mind.
What do you think?
